The Christ the Redeemer statue sits perched high above Rio de Janeiro — one of South America’s most recognizable symbols. At 98 feet it stands with its arms outstretched like a guardian of the city. But the panorama from the top of Corcovado Mountain, from which the statue is visible, is simply remarkable with the statue standing out against the city of Rio’s beaches, mountains, and urban sprawl.

Torres del Paine, Chile
